Christine Jean
The project “Infinite Constellations” represents a fundamental milestone in the artistic journey of Christine Jean, a French visual artist who has been working on this cycle of works since 2020. In 2025, Jean has been invited for a residency by the association SIC.12 artstudio-Rome, where she will present an exhibition structured in two distinct phases, focused on the exploration of time, matter, and memory through diverse techniques and materials.
1. The Exhibition: Structure and Themes
• First phase: June 5 – June 28, 2025
Presentation of the long-term project “The Event Horizon, Fragments of Constellations,” in dialogue with works from the art brut and contemporary art collection of Gustavo Giacosa and Fausto Ferraiuolo.
On display:
• A series of drawings from the artist’s sketchbooks
• Oil paintings on wood
• Chinese inks on paper and canvas
• Second phase: October 9 – November 9, 2025
A new installation featuring unstretched canvases created during the residency “Stones, Walls, Textures of Time” between Paris and Rome.
Focus: The “time of stones” and its resonance within the artist’s creative processes.

9 ottobre dalle ore 17:30: vernissage di un nuovo allestimento della mostra “Infinite Costellazioni”, focalizzato sul lavoro di Christine Jean sui muri di Roma e Parigi, e sulla rielaborazione in grande formato di alcune pagine dei suoi taccuini. La mostra sarà visitabile su prenotazione fino al 9 novembre 2025.
Sabato 11 ottobre ore 18: “Strange fruit” Performance musicale di Gustavo Giacosa e Fausto Ferraiuolo ispirata alle pagine dei taccuini di Christine Jean.

Poetica e Materiali
​
Christine Jean lavora con materiali grezzi, integrando pittura, inchiostro, olio e rame. L’uso delle foglie di rame, soggette a processi di ossidazione e alterazione, diventa metafora dei cicli naturali di degrado e rinascita. L’artis- ta incorpora trasformazioni chimiche nella pittura, evocando processi di erosione, vibrazione e attrazione, simili alle forze naturali che agiscono sulla materia.
I Taccuini: Archivio in Movimento

Elemento centrale della ricerca di Jean sono i suoi taccuini di lavoro, veri e propri archivi viventi. Durante la mostra, l’artista esplora e rielabora questi archivi in forme sonore e visive. Le pagine dei taccuini vengono ridisegnate e ingrandite su grandi fogli, la cui superficie irregolare cattura la gestualità della mano. Ogni segno, anche se cancellato, diventa materia temporale, testimonianza del processo creativo in divenire.
