Festival TRACCE#1 Art+Alterity+Elsewhere

TRACCE is a festival with an inclusive vocation, born from the desire to artistically interrogate the ever-fertile and fluctuating notion of madness. Inspired by the thought of the innovators of contemporary psychiatry Franco Basaglia and François Tosquelles, we can oppose the anthropological notion of madness to the strictly medical one of mental illness.

TRACCE, intends to highlight the result of artistic practices carried out by patients of Mental Health Centers in dialogue with productions of contemporary artists.

Gathered around the theme of the track, creators and scholars from different origins will meet the public, favoring the exchange of social roles and the questioning of preconceived ideas.

TRACCE, builds a bridge between the experiences of two mental health services having art as their common denominator: ASL Roma 2 UOCD8 and the Center Hospitalier Les Murets in Paris (La Queue en Brie). Under a single artistic direction, the festival took place on 23 September 2022 in Paris (La Queue en Brie), and will take place in Rome on 10, 11 and 12 November 2022 in different spaces of the VIII Municipio, in a along Via Ostiense which connects the San Paolo Day Center of UOC D8 with the SIC12artstudio APS exhibition space.

TRACCE presents a program of exhibitions, shows, concerts, documentary films and conferences that provide a unique insight into and contribute to the de-stigmatization of mental illness. The festival includes moments of conviviality that will encourage meetings and spontaneous discussions.
